Megan Mahon – Principal

With over 25 years of diverse commercial and property experience, Megan understands the needs of our valued clients. Megan’s practice focuses on providing advice to individuals and SME’s in the areas of commercial and property related matters and succession planning.

Valued for her practical and client-focused advice, Megan has extensive experience acting for property developers, purchasers, vendors, government agencies, financiers, leading corporates, landlords and tenants with respect to commercial negotiations, business acquisitions and structuring, development projects, sales and purchases, leasing, building contracts, land divisions and community titles. Appropriate structuring should have well documented succession planning for both your business and personal assets and Megan is able to assist clients with this important process as well.

Megan is a Past President of the Queensland Law Society and a former Executive Director of the Law Council of Australia.

Megan's contribution to the Legal Profession and support of fellow professionals has been recognised many times, with the highlights being awarded the QLS 2017 President’s Medal, the WLAQ 2009 Woman Lawyer of the Year and in her appointments as a Notary Public, as a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Law and as a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Notaries.

As well as being a Member of the Practitioner Panel of the Qld Civil and Administrative Tribunal (QCAT) and a Full TEP member (Trust and Estate Practitioner), Megan is also a Director of the Australian Cervical Cancer Foundation and a member of the Griffith University Innocence Project Advisory Board.


 

Tammy Parsons – Estate Planning Lawyer

Tammy is a compassionate adviser focused on delivering comprehensive Estate Plans in an effective and practical manner. Tammy’s background in general practice, commercial law, asset protection and taxation, serves her well in developing a holistic approach to crafting practical succession plans in complex environments.

A respected member of the Mahon Legal team, Tammy is committed to understanding what clients want to achieve in their Estate Plan, reviewing and assessing business and personal structures and providing advice and implementing an Estate Plan suited to each individual circumstance. Tammy acts for clients across the board, including the preparation of simple wills through to more comprehensive Estate Plans (incorporating Testamentary Trusts). The essential review and advice required for complex business structures and entities, in view of our clients’ succession objectives, include family trust deed review and advice, company constitution terminology considerations and assessment of capacity issues.

 

Leonie Clyne – Paralegal / Senior Administrator

With more than 25 years’ experience in a variety of industries including banking, transport, education and legal, Leonie joined our team in July 2017 in the dual role of Paralegal / Senior Administrator. Leonie’s extensive customer service and administrative background allows her to support the firm in providing a strong customer focus, and it will usually be her friendly face or voice greeting you when you contact the office.

Leonie thrives on assisting and working closely with you to ensure all aspects of your conveyancing matters are handled efficiently and that you are kept informed every step of the way. Leonie also assists the principal with the accounts functions of the business, manages most administrative tasks and ensures a smooth running office is maintained at all times.

Away from of the office Leonie’s competitive nature and love of sport is satisfied by playing pool and softball at a competitive level most of the year round, as well as acting as Treasurer for her softball club. The rest of her spare time belongs to her family and friends, especially four very important grandchildren.

 

Mei Deng – Paralegal

Mei began her career in law in 2013 as a Property Secretary and Paralegal gaining valuable experience in commercial, property and associated areas of law whilst studying at the University of Queensland. She is due to graduate with a dual degree of Bachelor of Laws and Science at the University of Queensland in the near future.

As a perfectionist, Mei prides herself on her attention to details and ability to work under pressure, and always thrives to deliver quality work in an efficient, professional and cost-effective manner. Mei is committed to understanding and prioritising the clients’ needs, and never makes assumptions.

Aside from her extensive experience in the area of property law, Mei possesses exceptional linguistic skills that she speaks, reads and writes Chinese and Japanese with a native proficiency. She has been able to utilise these skills in handling the needs of Chinese and Japanese clientele, and is passionate about assisting any Japanese or Chinese individuals or companies with any requirements that they may have.

 

Carol Wells – Business Development Manager

With many years’ experience in customer service, marketing and public relations in roles such as State Manager for John Sands Company and Seven Series Manager, Team McMillan BMW, Carol brings her valuable experience in professional services management, client relationship and service delivery to her role as Business Development Manager for Mahon Legal.

While often the welcoming face for many of our visitors to our office, Carol is also instrumental in maintaining our valued relationships with our clients, referrers and other external providers.

Carol has a substantial background in voluntary community services and is the President of the Probus Club of Indooroopilly, the Past President of the Brisbane Planetarium Rotary Club and formerly Assistant Governor to the District Governor of District 9600.

 

Terri Macchion – Consultant

Terri has over 20 years of experience in the legal industry, graduating in 2003 with a Bachelor of Business majoring in Human Resource Management. Specialising in Human Resources, Operations Management and Office Management, Terri is a valued member of the Mahon Legal Team.

On a personal note, she loves to start her day with a good latte, enjoys artistic endeavours and the study of the mind.
